Service Description
Welcome to the North American Saddlery School Intro to Bridle and Saddle Making Course, where we offer expert-led classes in saddle making, bridle making, and leather working. Our foundational level course equip you with essential saddlery skills, preparing you for advanced training in English bridle, saddle, and leatherwork. This is a crucial prerequisite for NASS Saddle Making and Bridle Making Levels 2 & 3, ensuring you build a solid foundation for your craft. Join us and embark on your journey in the art of saddlery! Projects, skills, tests and assignments have been developed in each area to allow candidates to learn their craft skills in the beginning areas of leatherwork. These include: selecting leather for projects, choosing and using leatherworking tools, measuring, cutting, edging, staining, rubbing up, stitching and hole punching projects at a basic level. Skill practicing projects include: a belt, buckle guards and a needle case. By the end of this class you will have made a pair of stirrup leathers, an Irish martingale and a bridle headpiece. These projects and skills will give you the ability to do basic repairs at home in your shop and competence to create all manner of saddlery pieces for your clients. This level is all done by hand.
