Intermediate Saddle Fitting Course - Level Two
A two-day course covering the developmental skills in saddle fitting needed to be an educated independent saddle fitter. The course develops the skills beyond the Introduction Course to include; identifying issues, making corrections and changes to the fit and saddle balance through adjustments to ensure the soundness of the horse, while providing comfort, balance and security for the rider. This course is the next step (Level Two) on our Saddle Fitting Training Pathway and an essential element of CPD for equine professionals such as Physiotherapists, Coaches, Vets, and Saddlers.

Meals- We will have some limited breakfast breads and a full lunch selection. Please note any dietary restrictions on your application and we will do our best to accommodate them. We will also provide tea, water and coffee and individually wrapped snacks.

Accommodation is not included and must be arranged by the delegate as well as transportation. The Holiday Inn Express in Clear Spring offers a reduced rate but please ask for the Manager and reserve at least two weeks ahead of time. Additionally you can look to Hagerstown, Md for more hotel options.

A confirmation of attendance will be given as there is no qualification attached to this course. Attendance in this course offers saddler fitter or trainees valuable experience in the art of saddle fitting and aids in the process towards becoming a qualified saddle fitter. Intermediate Saddle Fitting Course - Level Two The next steps in your training
This is a two-day course covering the principles of our own North American Saddlery School recommended saddle fitting system.
Attendees need to be aware of and able to practice the art of flocking correctly, both on the bench and out onsite at appointments. It is a prerequisite that course attendees have come to the Introduction to Saddle Fitting Course and have attended or be enrolled the Saddle Flocking and Onsite Adjustment Course.
Attendees should bring their own tools to the course, the ones they are comfortable using as this course is both lecture and practical. As well as come dressed to work outside and around horses in the mid atlantic region of the USA.
Day 1 comprises a series of lectures, demonstrations and practicals including:
technical reflocking skills
understanding conformation & breed types; choosing trees and panels for breeds
the asymmetric horse
Day 2 comprises a series of lectures, demonstrations and practicals including:
assessing fit of saddle for rider
dynamic adjustments & reflocking for rider
shimming for fit alterations
altering girths & girthing for fitting
The aim of this course is to teach a level of awareness of saddle fitting with no affiliation to any brand, this course showcases the techniques and the research that goes into the fitting process. Affiliated with the North American Saddlery School, this program is taught by guest lecturers that are Master Saddlers and Master or Qualified Saddle Fitters with experience teaching this program all over the world.
