Service Description
This level teaches and tests the candidates in saddlery skills needed to begin their training in English saddle and bridle making. A prerequisite for NASS courses; Saddle Making Levels 2 & 3, Bridle Making Levels 2 & 3, recommended to those seeking those seeking Society of Master Saddle Fitting assessment and qualification. Skills tests and assignments have been developed in each area to allow candidates to demonstrate their craft skills in the beginning areas. These include: measuring, cutting, edging, staining, rubbing up, stitching and hole punching at a basic level. You will be required to make a pair of stirrup leathers, an Irish martingale and a bridle headpiece, along with these skill practicing work projects to encourage progress of a belt, buckle guards and a needle case. This level is all done by hand.
